New attributes
During installation, the plugin automatically creates four new global product attributes in WooCommerce. Adding these attributes and their values to your products will improve calculation accuracy, but they are not required for Dutify to calculate duty and tax.
| Attribute | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Dutify Classification ID | Assigns a product to a specific Dutify category for the most accurate duty and tax calculation. | 2549 (retrieved from Dutify - more infohere) |
| Dutify Country of Origin | Specifies the product’s country of origin, used for preferential rates and certain tariff calculations. If not set, the store’s location will be used. | AU for Australia - (use the ISO 3166 country code. Any other value will prevent calculation) |
| Dutify HS Code | Classifies the product using an HS code (full or partial). | 8471.30 |
| Dutify HS Code Country | Indicates the country for which the HS Code applies. This is required if using Dutify HS Code. | JP for Japan - (use the ISO 3166 country code. Any other value will prevent calculation) |
Setting up new attributes
- Navigate to your WooCommerce product catalog and select a product.
- Click the Attributes tab.
- From the dropdown, select the applicable attribute (one of the four listed above).
- If you have already entered the value, you can click the values field and select it from the list. Otherwise, click Create value and enter the relevant value (for example
JPfor Dutify Country of Origin if the origin country is Japan). - Once you have selected the values, click Save attributes
Note: you should only have a single value for each attribute.
