Plugin settings
Learn how to configure the Dutify WooCommerce plugin to meet your needs.
While the Dutify WooCommerce plugin begins calculating accurate landed costs right out of the box, every ecommerce business has unique needs. Depending on your operations, you may want to enable or disable specific features. We recommend reviewing and adjusting your plugin settings to ensure Dutify is configured to your needs before going live.
How to change settings
- In WordPress, go to WooCommerce β Settings β Dutify.
- Change desired settings.
- After making any changes, click Save changes.
Global settings
- Enable Dutify - enables/disables the plugin.
- API token - where you paste your Dutify API key.
Calculation settings
- Enable/Disable specific taxes - by default Dutify will calculate all duties and taxes, but you can disable specific taxes if WooCommerce, or another plugin is already handling it.
- Recommendation: keep all duties and taxes enabled to avoid mismatched landed cost estimates.
- Preferential rates - apply reduced rates when shipping with a certificate of origin. Check with your carrier before enabling as this is typically not offered with B2C shipping methods.
- Recommendation: leave disabled unless you are confident that you qualify for preferential rates.
- Do not collect duty & taxes (DDU) - shows duty and tax at checkout but does not charge it, using an offset line item instead.
- Recommendation: use if you are shipping DDU/DAP but still want to display the duty and tax.
- Checkout only - calculates duty and tax only at checkout to reduce API calls.
- Recommendation: keep this disabled to show estimates in both cart and checkout for better customer experience.
Label settings
- Duty & tax label - changes the text shown for the duty and taxes row in the cart and checkout.
- Default label: Duty & Taxes
- Handling fee label - if you have configured a handling fee in Dutify, setting this label will display it as a separate line item in the cart and checkout.
- Leave this blank to combine the handling fee with the duty and taxes row.
- Do not collect duty & taxes label - if you are using the DDU feature, this label is used for the offset charge.
- Default label: Duty & Taxes (payable on delivery)
We recommend testing any configuration changes in a staging environment before making changes to your production store.
Other Dutify settings
These Dutify settings will also affect your WooCommerce plugin, even though they are configured in Dutify and not in WooCommerce:
